Graduate Visa – Quick Guide

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

• Be in the UK when applying.
• Have, or have last had, permission as a Student.
• Have successfully completed an eligible UK qualification.
• Have studied with a Higher Education Provider with a track record of compliance.
• Have their successful course completion reported to the Home Office by their education provider.
• Meet the required period of study in the UK.
• Not have previously been granted permission under the Graduate route or Doctorate Extension Scheme.

The route generally covers:

• UK bachelor’s degrees.
• UK postgraduate degrees.
• PhDs and other doctoral qualifications.
• Certain specified professional and legal qualifications.
• PGCE and PGDE qualifications.

A Graduate may:

• Work in most jobs.
• Look for work.
• Be self-employed.
• Undertake voluntary work.

A Graduate cannot:

• Work as a professional sportsperson.
• Access public funds.
• Extend their Graduate permission.

• Existing eligible Student dependants may normally apply to remain with you.
• New partners or children generally cannot be added as Graduate dependants.

Applicants will normally need:

1. 1A valid passport or other identity document.
2. 2Details of their Student permission.
3. 3Their Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) reference number.
4. 4Evidence required to establish identity and immigration status.
5. 5Written consent from a government or international scholarship agency where required.

Applicants must pay:

• Graduate visa application fee.
• Immigration Health Surcharge.
